SCYB Assistant Coaching Requirements

All SCYB Assistant Coaches in every league are reminded that in order to participate as an Assistant Coach during ANY SCYB league game, including the dugout area, they must meet the following MINIMUM requirements:

1. Submit to and pass a CURRENT Criminal background check through the Scott County Parks & Recreation Department at the Pavilion. This can be done M-F from 9-4 pm at the Pavilion. This background check must be completed BEFORE 04/11/08! It does not matter if you have completed a criminal background check in the past or for another sport. The background check completed for another sport MAY be valid, however, you must go the the parks & rec . department or call 502-863-7865 to verify that your background check is current. Do not assume that it is.

2. Be approved by majority vote of the SCYB Board of Directors to participate as an assistant coach.

3. Must abide by the Scott County-Georgetown Parks & Recreation Physical & Verbal Abuse Policy a copy of which can be downloaded from this website under the Available for Download  section.

4. Must purchase and wear an approved SCYB logo red collar shirt from Sports Connection located in Georgetown, KY in the Washington Square Shopping Center. Coaches must wear  tennis shoes, cleats or coaching shoes during games. No open-toed footwear is allowed (flip-flops, crocks, sandals, etc.).

An assistant coach IS NOT required to complete the Babe Ruth online coaches certification as required of Head Coaches.
