2013 SCYB ALL STAR REGISTRATIONWritten by: Jeff Stayton

Scott County Youth Baseball is currently accepting registrations for All Star teams for the 2013 summer season. SCYB will be extending All Star play to 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12 year old team. As last year, SCYB will be adding a second (or Select) team based upon the number of players registered per age group.
Parents and or Players will not be allowed to choose which team they wish to play. Head Coaches from each league will select the All Star team(s) for each age group (5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12) then will form a "second" teams based upon the total number of players left. The first team will be All Stars that participate in sanctioned Cal Ripken 46/60 tournaments. All other teams and any second (or Select) team will participate in a minimum of 4 tournaments to be determined by the head coach.
All players and head coaches for each team will be selected by the Head Coaches in each league. Major League head coaches select for ages 10, 11, and 12) Minor League head coaches select for 9 year olds, Training League head coaches select for 7 and 8 year old teams, Rookie League head coaches select for 6 year olds and TBall head coaches select for 5 year olds. The league coordinator may appoint a head coach for any select team if one has not been selected at the time the team has been formed. All Head Coaches will be formally approved by the SCYB Board of Directors after the selection process and before tournament play begins.

Scott County Head Football Coach, Jim McKee and Head Baseball Scott Willard will be hosting the 7th Annual Homeruns and Touchdowns Camp. This annual camp will held at Suffoletta Park on Friday May 24th from 5:30pm to 9:00pm. Registration is only $15.00 which includes players ages 5 - 12. Coach McKee is also please to announce the 20th Annual Jim McKee Summer Football Camps for May 29th and May 30. The camp is divided into three segments by the grade your child will be enrolled next Fall. K-5 from 9:00am to 12:00pm, 6th - 8th from 12:00pm to 4:00pm, and 9th grade from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. Parents and Players, Great success this year for the Lexington Legends fundraiser. SCYB was able to raise over $8,000 for our general fund. Your hard work paid off. Scott County Youth Baseball is excited to announce signups for the new 2013 Senior League are going on now. After a one year absence, the league will return bigger and better than ever. The season will begin the third of May and last until the third week of July. Please join us for what will be a true summer baseball league at a great youth baseball facility. The Senior League (13 - 15 Year Olds) signup fee is $110.00. Signups will continue until Friday, May 10th.
**For those individuals who do not have access to a computer, representatives from the SCYB board will be at the Pavilion on Sunday, April 7, 2013 from 1:00pm - 6:00pm accepting registration for the 2013 Spring Season.
The league in which your child will participate is determined by his/her age on April 30, 2013. For more information on how to determine the correct league for your child, please refer to the SCYB web site information tab.
Any parent who may be interested in coaching please fill out an application and submit it to scybcoach@gmail.com
All players who are entering Senior League must attend one of the try out dates. Any player who has participated in the Senior League prior to this season is required to try out.
All try outs will take place at the Senior League Field adjacent to the Scott County Animal Shelter.
The try out times and date is TBA
In the event of inclement weather, SCYB will reschedule the tryout date.

The Scott County Youth Baseball board met the evening of January 9 at the Scott County Fiscal Court. During a public vote the election of officers, league coordinators and at large members was conducted. The following individuals were elected to the board. We encourage all parents of youth baseball parents to participate in helping with the league. We will always need head and assistant coaches, fund raising, try-outs, maintaining fields, and other activities. You do not have to be a board member to be involved. This is a reminder to all SCYB parents, coaches and visitors that only parks & recreation and approved SCYB Board of Director vehicles conducting official SCYB business are allowed inside the park past the service gate entrance when games or practices are being held.
